Community, Connection and Storytelling #14
This week's round-up of what is worth checking out...
As many of us are dressing up for some Halloween fun (it should really be week 13 not 14 shouldn’t it!) be safe in your spooky endeavours out there, and if you have some time I recommend checking out the following:

As many countries are facing further lockdowns I thought it a poignant time to share an article about connection that I read this week about the most important connection of all - a connection to ourselves. This is one thing I’m really pondering right now. Check out Brianna Wiest’s Medium Article: How to Remember You’re Not Alone, Even When It Really Feels Like You Are
Worth a read this week is Mental Happy founder Tamar Blue’s approach to building inclusive communities. She recently spoke at the CMX conference and wrote a follow-up in this blog post.

Have you considered what happens when a community needs to take a pause? I know many readers are facing just that, so I’d recommend listening to Jodi Kovitz’s story on taking a pause for #movethedial on the Create Community Podcast. Jodi’s story completely resonated with me and I’m looking forward to diving into her own podcast.
I loved Charlie Todd’s stories of improvisation and gathering for fun activities and comedy on the GetTogether podcast.
I’m also excited about the news that Beth McIntyre is taking over the C2C podcast, so there will be more great stuff to come from them.

Here is a short introduction to Brand Communities from Chaordix. They house a lego co-creation community and it’s a great summary of what brand communities are, why they exist and what they can achieve.
I rarely look at humanity as one big community but when it comes to the planet and climate we perhaps need to be thinking this way. David Attenborough’s A Life On Our Planet is worth a ponder.
Until next weekend (and have a spooky one 🎃)
